The purpose of this study was to examine the creative behavior characteristics of 4-5 year olds and to investigate the relationship between these characteristics and the mothers' supportive child-rearing behaviors. The subjects were 125 pairs of young children and their mothers in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. The major results of this study were as follows. First, young children were rated to show uniqueness, openness, sensitivity, playfulness, and perseverance as creative behavior characteristics by their teacher. There were no significant differences between creative behavior characteristics of boys and girls. Second, the more mother used supportive child-rearing behaviors, the higher their children's creative behavior characteristics were estimated. |
